I just had to blog this....I LOVE being a mom. Don't get me wrong, it is the hardest job I have ever had and I've been working since I was 15 1/2 years old, but I wouldn't give it up for anything. Becoming a parent changes everything and I knew that to begin with; I mean, even though Elianna has been sleeping through the night at around 4 weeks of age, I just don't sleep the same.
Becoming a parent, as I mentioned changes everything and I don't mean that in a negative way, it's just the truth. Certain things are not as important. For instance, going to the movies and watching the newest release. I couldn't tell you what is out right now. When we get a chance to go to the movies, is it a treat? Of course! The difference now is that I have more important things to think about and I don't mind not being at the movie theatre most weekends.
For me, I know that waiting to have children was the right decision. Becoming a parent in my 20's vs my 30's would have been a different story. I don't believe that I would have appreciated all the small things in Eli's development and my growth as a parent.
