It's a boy!

As many of you know, we are having a boy.  To be totally  honest, I was surprised.  My pregnancy has pretty much the same as it was with Elianna expect for some headaches and a bit more throwing up in the first trimester.  My cravings have been slightly different.  I'm not a coffee drinker, but at night I was craving coffee.  So Mark would usually make a decaf coffee run for me at night.

The time of the ultrasound the little guy was not shy about showing if he was a boy or girl.  I would say within the first 2 minutes, there was a pee-pee.....once again, to my surprise.  It took me that whole day to get over the shock and the following day I was able to fully embrace the gender.

This is the first buy we got him.  It's so weird not getting anything with pink on it.

His coming home outfit from the hospital.

As with Elianna, we have no idea what his name will be.  Mostly likely unlike we get some time with him, the name will come.  We have been bouncing around some names, but nothing that we agree upon....again.

It's library time!

My goal has been to at least go to the library every other week; weekly if possible.  We go to different ones within the city of Whittier and Santa Fe Springs.  Elianna really seems to enjoy her books and becomes excited each time we enter the children's area at the library.  Now we've got to work on our library voices, but she's pretty good a Shh'ing mom.

 Getting comfy with the toys.

 Makes the library her home.

Time to go!

Elianna's Journal

Here's the journal.  At this point we are using it about 2 twice per week and she is enjoying her line "writing."

The two-handed writer; we are pretty sure she is left handed.

Cheese!
...and the madness begins!  It's time to use a table, before the pillows and the couch gets full of graffiti.

Spring Break!

This past week I had Spring Break.  Even though I work only two days, it was still nice to have the whole week off to be with my little one.

We went to the park.  WEEE!

Elianna checking out the waterfall at the park....and then did not want to leave.

Elianna and I went to the zoo:

Elianna played in their park area.  Perfect for young children!

Discovering the sand.  In Whittier, none of the parks have sand; they are covered with soft padding and/or wood chips.

Stopping to smell the flowers/roses....literally.  She loves her flowers.

At the end of the day we went for a train ride, but as you can see, Eli was done for the day.  Time for a nap.

I also wanted to go to the pool since the weekend was so warm, but mother nature changed the temperature on us and it became a cool week.

I got my hair done!

Easter:

Before we left to church.  Elianna granted me one photo.  She was running up and down the hall and I was finally able to get one snapshot of her.  We ended Easter by Mark and Eli watching the Laker game in bed, and Mark explaining the game to her.

Spring time fun....Part 2

Last Sunday, after church and Elianna's nap, Mark decided to check the sprinklers.  Just to make sure they were running properly.  We turn them off in the winter and since the weather had been a bit warmer, it was probably time to start running them again.  This year Mark has gained an assistant, Miss Elianna; she's a real hands on type of worker.

Since Elianna was so excited to see agua.  I could not even think of taking her from it and since it was a warm day....off with the clothes.  Enjoy!

Before I was able to get to her, she did get her clothes a bit wet. So we are using mother nature to dry them out for us.

Spring time fun!

Last Saturday the city of Whittier had the Easter celebration at a near by park.  There were several egg hunts for the various ages, rides, crafts and food.  Oh, and of course, 90 degree weather....   We headed out as soon as it stared to avoid most of the heat and crowds, here are some pictures.

Elianna and her "da-da" started on the race cars.  I think Mark is giving her some driving tips.

Oh, oh, the ride is over.

"Da-da" is drawing a rainbow on Elianna's flower pot.  An artist at work :)

Mama and Eli wait for Da-da as he finishes the flower pot.  How do you like my Spring hat?

The flower is presented.

After an hour or so of the festivities, all members of our party had their fill of the park and we decided to cool off at McDonald's.  Elianna grabs hold of her mama's Hi-C drink.

...and she goes for the it!  She ends up finishing it for me.

The Inactive Blogger....but there is a growing reason.

I know, I've been MIA for a about a couple of months.  The reason, check below:

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!  Two pink stripes equals, we are PREGNANT!  Yes, it's true, as our $0.99 Store pregnancy test shows, we are expecting our 2nd child. It was planned.  We are due October 15, 2011, which means I'm 3 months along.  I found out when I was about 5 weeks along and had the initial doctor's visit at 8 weeks. Everything seems to look good and healthy.

This pregnancy is pretty consistent with my first; weeks 5-9 are the hardest.  Which makes me sooo glad that I'm now in my 2nd trimester.  I really did not have much energy or brain power to do much, but keep it together hour per hour.  I do not experience morning sickness, it's night time blah....but, days and nights are starting to be a lot easier/normal.

So, there you have it.  I'm hoping to get back to my normal mommy activities, little by little.

I would like to introduce...

BIG sister!!
