As I was changing Elianna's diaper early yesterday evening, it hit me. I'll be going back to work soon. Not only that, but the tears came gushing out without stop. Yesterday was a bit tiresome (I believe Elianna is starting to teethed) and as I was changing her diaper she gave this huge beautiful smile, and I told her, "I'm going to miss those when I'm at work." As you can imagine the tears came. Mark had to console me twice because I had two rounds of tears. He reminded me that it would only be for two months. I know this but it still hurts.
The plan is for me to return to work after Easter and Mark will take leave and be the at home dad until June, when my school year ends. I'll be returning to work in July but part time (50%); working 2.5 days for the new school year. Those days Elianna will be at grandmas' house; both grandmothers are waiting with excitement. Elianna will be 7 mos then and I'm sure they will both enjoy her tremendously.

2 months and counting
Yesterday we had Elianna's 2 month check up and everything is looking good! She is hitting all her benchmarks and then some. There were 4 shots that she needed to have, but I only consented to two because I don't want to overload her with shots. In two weeks we'll go back and get the rest.
Eli is now 11 pounds and 3 ouncez and is 23 inches long. Her newborn clothing items no longer fit her and fitting her perfectly are 0-3 months....my little girl is growing.
Here are some things she can do now:
*she uses both her forearms to hold herself up when she is being held
*no longer stays asleep at a restaurant; she wants out of her seat and be part of the dinner
*is very social and loves to talk
*will take turns talking
*takes her pacifier ;)
*seems to enjoy tummy time
*brings her hand to her mouth
*has started to eat 7 oz
&
*when held will stand
